The Dex team is made up of Australian specialists that all have one thing in common… the desire to change patient care to help both hospitals and patients achieve a better surgical journey.
Dex is a social business that has been established to change medical culture - not to make a profit.
Dex was launched thanks to funding and effort from the following sources:
The Australian government through the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. We would like to acknowledge their significant financial contribution
Private medical specialists
Food technologists, scientists, beverage companies, dietitians, hospital CEO's and patients who have all contributed time and resources without receiving any financial compensation
Dex aims to improve the comfort and surgical outcomes of millions of patients across the globe.
Any profit is returned straight back to Dex in order to:
Make Dex more affordable by lowering the cost for patients.
Educate the medical community about pre-emptive treatment with complex carbohydrates.
Ensure equitable distribution of Dex to more remote communities globally.
Educate dietitians, surgeons, anaesthesiologists and hospitals on how to safely and simply improve patient conditions before surgery.
Dex is 100% Australian made and owned. Our team consists of a medical advisory panel, food technologists, dietitians and physicians. Each member brings valuable knowledge and experience.
The Dex medical team is led by Dr David Reiner, practicing perioperative physician (Anaesthetist/Anaesthesiologist) and Director of Specialty Anaesthesia Pty Ltd. As a member of the Australian New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) he holds the title of Quality and Safety Officer on the regional committee of the Australian Capital Territory. Dr Reiner is committed to simplifying hospital “clear fluid” protocols, and improving fasting conditions for patients while improving surgical outcomes.
